Graduation Review
Good Morning
9/10
A wholesome motivational song, that should honestly be my alarm. Kanye's raps actually have meaning about education, prospects and dreams. The vibe of the song is immaculate and amazing, the pace of the song also is great and just a great song to vibe to. Especially in the morning would make anyone's day.
Champion
10/10
The sample just slaps so hard, Kanye has a habit of just having samples overtake the song and put any hardly input into it; which sometimes hit or misses but Ye actually carries with the sample. It's the perfect recipe for the Kanye style, it's another motivational track with a good message as well. It also has two different choruses which is insane for nearly 3 minutes, Ye went above and beyond for this track. It's super underrated also. It's about being at the top but not going over your head and being reckless, and Kanye showing his Kanye best by gloating but the doesn't ruin the song and it's an amazing song.
Stronger
10/10
The most legendary song on the album. It's one of my favourite songs and the most overplayed song of Ye which kind of ruins it to me, since I've known the song of like 11 years. However, it is the best song on the album. Kanye remixing Daft Punk, it's an legendary collab. It takes just a sentence from Daft Punk and made a whole song around which shows how much of a genius he is. Overall, an absolute banger.
I Wonder
9/10
An phenomenal sample, with Kanye rapping in a lagging manner just goes well with the sample and echo. Making it very impactful, then after goes to Kanye rapping about girls and about finding your dream. Although it stops it from being a 10 as it doesn't really have substance after a while it's bit repetitive and the beat doesn't stand out, although it's a good song.
Good Life (feat. T-Pain)
10/10
Both legends on the track, and compliment eachother well with Kanye doing other flows which just bangs so much. It's interesting enough to be replayable and a good summer vibe song and super catchy. One very enjoyable song about living your best life like a celebrity. With ofc some Kanyeism too, but it doesn't ruin it as T-Pain actually says more than the chorus so it's amazing.
Can't Tell Me Nothing
10/10
Just hearing the start just perks me up so much that, Kanye has a slower style here which perfects the song and it's very memorable to recite the lyrics as well. The samples are a masterpiece with the adlibs as well. It's an incredible song to vibe to and put on. The song is one of the longer 4 minute ones but it works to be changing enough throughout to be good as a whole.
Barry Bonds
10/10
Another polarising one to many Kanye fans, let's see. To start off Lil Wayne the goat has an amazing part, the amazing word play is one of the greatest one the album from Kanye. That is so legendary Logic sampled it. People say it doesn't fit Graduation but I think it does because most of the songs have similar meanings, it's a banger with an old school styled beat that just makes it a masterpiece.
Drunk & Hot Girls
9/10
It's one of my favourite sounding songs on the album, most of the songs on graduation just have Kanye rapping in his boring typical fashion. However, this song is the most different song, it sounds one of best. The best songs on graduation have been overplayed so DHG's is fun listen. It's one of the only songs where there isn't any repetitive rap but very melodic. The song is about going with drunk girls but ends with one forever. Either if you take the lyrics to literally and think it's sus then just a fun track. Also about love is a dangerous nesseciaty hit hard. ( kanye warned about girls but got divorced by one)
Flashing Lights
10/10
Has one of the more interesting beats, use of synths keeps it enjoyable and the chorus hits so much, with prime Kanye lyricism that was actually pretty good for his other rhymes. The rap parts don't go on for to long and we get a healthy portion of the chorus which makes this a certified banger. Nothing to hate fr
Everything I Am
10/10
Very memorable song, damn. I just found this song from a meme that shows how good it is. The melodic pace feels so vibey and incredible, with the backing singing too. It's one of my favourite chrous with some soul into it, Kanye loves to combine old school with new style, like with use of scratches. Makes this an incredible masterpiece. The repeating chorus just works and brings it all together which makes it very complete and has some samples at which goes great into the next song.
The Glory
10/10
Kanye obviously loved this sample so much he was singing it at the beginning, even uses a choir with this Jackson 5-esque sample that repeats while Kanye raps over makes it so good. Kanye pops up off on his flow, one of my favourite flows on the album too. Which goes well with the drums as well, the flow is lil faster than his usual which works so good with the whole songs. He even has heavy punches to the end which shows his Kanye Best.
Homecoming (feat. Chris Martin)
10/10
This probably my most replayable and favourite song on the album, the keyboard and composition of the song is all amazing. Each part stands out, with the feature on the chorus. This is an ultimate Kanye style song which is made well protrayed here, all his lyrics have meaning and doesn't go off like rambling which is a problem that I find with Kanye but this song is legendary. Without the chorus it wouldn't be as good so it's why I loved it so much more.
Big Brother
9/10
Kanye's heartfelt song about Jay-Z, I like this song because it goes into more meaning around Kanye. It's great to really relate to Kanye about his admiration for his mentor, Ye's flow with the synth just makes it emotional. Kanye can just set a tone with just his lyrics and flow is why he is the most versatile rapper out there. The replayability rating is very high but it is amazing song none the less.
Good Night
8/10
So we had good morning so of course we need good night. The chorus I didn't really like much as good morning, however Kanye has his peak flows that does feel like 2007 again. It does have Mos Def on it as so it's still very good as a song and maybe it will rub off on me some day. The vibe is great with the heavy drums and chorus, so loved it anyway.
Overall - 9/10
Thanks for Reading!
