Random #4
Mirai Nikki OST
The first volume on the ost is very spacey sounding that could be took as the viewer is being lost as the composition has a lot of random electronic sounds almost messing with your head to feel what the mc feels as he is being vulnerable to all the threats that surround him. The ost has a lot if distortion synthetic sounds almost sounding experimental at times, the sounds are sometimes all over the place when behind a basic beat to set the tone of the series. At time it has some bassy drum sounding synths or just drums that are kind of fast making it feel very energised for then action scenes or uses guitar at times with synths to do this as well.
On volume 2 of ost which some elongated singing over the random synthetic electronics that this ost likes to use and some synths that almost sound Alien or like chimes at certain points making it feel very spooky, this volume actually has a guitar composition in the mix that has a very poppy melodic feel to it sounding almost happy; I'm not going to rewatch just to tell you what scene they used this for but I'd guess it was for happy scene (track 13).
Track 14 does the same as well but this song almost sounds like surf pop which is kind of surprising for this type of anime (track 14) At the sad moments in this anime or emotionally as some people would say it has a beautifully calming and emotion filled composition which uses this piano piece in a minor chord with stringed instruments to set this tone, I don't why but I tend to like these type of melancholy music. (Track 15)
Death Note Story
Death Note is a thrilling psychological anime about Light Yagami who finds a notepad that was dropped down by a god of death also know as a shinigami, the notepad you can write in and whoever name is written in the notepad dies if you know there full name and face. Light use this death note to take justice on criminals a controversial argument turns up "is it alright to take someone's life for someone sins" a antagonist shows up, L a anonymous famous talented detective tries to take down Light which is name Kira to the media.
Overall Thoughts
Death Note is masterpiece of a psychological thriller anime, the characters are one of the best character Light Yagami has a god complex while he thinks he has all the power and justice on his shoulders he gets head of heels into being a vigilante and becomes the villian in the process The Second opening is one of the most greatest openings in anime history. The story is great, there's nothing bad about this anime I can think of, 10/10
Carole & Tuesday ED
The ending song “Hold Me Now” from Carole and Tuesday is surprisingly good, an anime song that’s in English to be fluent is a rarity and usually in anime that is a class above the rest and this anime shows that notion right here. This will be my interpretation of this ending song, with music we can all have a different interpretation of it so if you think otherwise then let me know in the comments, I’d love to know your thoughts. “This is what my heart’s been waiting for” shows that they always had a passion for music and wanted to be something as a musician, the song is perfect for the anime as it put the characterisation of the main characters into the song like there aspirations and experience with music “Finally fulfilled” tells me that they always dreamt of being a musician and the first few episodes into the anime they get to start making full songs and everything music artists do. “Pick me up to dance” shows there love for music as the lyrics here could be that they want to dance to music which is the literally meaning but it could be symbolised as she found a friend with same dream and they going to dance together to the rhythm of their life and journey as musicians, for example Carole is maybe singing to Tuesday or vice versa that she telling her to share her dream with her as a metaphor which is my interpretation of this song.
The anime and song has a lot of western appeal to as I think this was trying to appease to the American/English speaking viewers as the producers of the show probably actually care about fans outside of Japan which is very rare to be seen to the industry as it has been known that a lot of the industry only care about Japan probably because of money and that is where the industry is so it’s only natural but appealing to English fans shows how much heart and genuine the people making it are because they don’t need to think about outside audience which is cool and that’s why it’s a perfect show for even people who don’t watch anime.
Thanks for Reading!
